The reconstructivism movement operates on a zero-trust basis.

Trust isn’t assumed until it is proven, and it is only proven within the contexts that it is proven.

Trust is not permanent, nor is any individual to be completely trusted.

Trust people with the things they are trusted with to the extent that they are trusted with them.

None of this is personal. Human behavior is too complicated to make it personal. You can learn more about that later.

For now, just know that it’s on you to both verify vouches for yourself as well as stay trustworthy enough to maintain positive, current vouches.

Vouches should be specific, both in request and confirmation.

“Do you trust X person to do Y thing?”

“I trust X person to do Y thing”

This basic formality can save you all the trouble in the world when calculating and taking risks on community building~
